Easy and quick to set up over any confined space hatch or manhole - simply unfold the legs over the hatch and attach the included manual winch (via the quick-connect bracket) and you are good to go. This simple set up makes the Sala Lift II ideal for emergency and technical rescue operations. The aluminum construction makes the tripod incredibly lightweight and easy to transport to and from your jobsite. The winch is heavier than the tripod itself, but even this features a carrying handle making transport relatively hassle free. The manual winch can take a load up to 350lbs for work support and 310lbs for fall arrest. Durable and hard-wearing the winch features zinc-plated parts and anodized aluminum casing, as well as an aluminum drum and stainless steel springs - making it suitable for almost any work site. 60 feet of 1/4-inch galvanized steel cable gives the user an extended reach suitable for most work sites. If needed, longer length winches can be purchased and used with this tripod. A ‘freewheel’ setting on the winch allows for easy descent, the cable paying out as you go. This is easily changed with a simple flick of a switch and the winch is back in retrieval mode. An overload clutch is in place for retrieval mode, preventing any harm from coming to your team or equipment should they get tangled or snagged during retrieval. And with this unit meeting or exceeding OSHA and ANSI standards, you can be sure that if used properly, it will last, protect your team and let you get the job done safely.
